Your Support Matters

Whether you’re a runner, walker, or simply someone who believes in the mission of ChooseWell Communities, we hope you’ll join us for our inaugural Walk Through the Wild on August 18 at the Louisville Zoo! Join us at the finish line for food, music, activities, and, of course, the zoo. Together, we can continue to ignite solutions & inspire change for families committed to creating THRIVING lives!

The funds raised at the 2018 ChooseWell Walk Through The Wild help young families with histories of addiction maintain sobriety to raise their babies and toddlers in safe, healthy, drug-free homes. Participants and donors are contributing to lifesaving resources, like access to safe housing and a loving drug-free community to give babies and toddlers a chance at a drug-free future.

Together, we can continue to ignite solutions and inspire change through the power of a compassionate, family-centered, community response.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register?

To register for the walk, visit Choose-Well.org/Walk and click “Registration.” You’ll have options to register as an individual, create a new team, or register as a member of a pre-existing team.

How do I register my child? Can I register multiple people?

Our website requires that each person registering must have an email address. Unfortunately, we’re not able to register multiple people at once. Make sure to log out each time you register before attempting to register someone else afterwards.

I want to be a volunteer for a walk. Do I have to pay a registration fee?

If you are interested in volunteering, contact Kim Mascaro at [email protected] The more the merrier. We encourage all volunteers to register and fundraise.

The walk website says the online registration is closed. Am I too late?

Never fear! Anyone who is interested may register during check-in the day of the walk. And although registration is closed, you may still donate.

Does paying the registration fee count as a donation?

No. Because this is a fundraiser, we strongly suggest that you continue your fundraising efforts after paying the registration fee, which helps to cover zoo entrance, t-shirt and venue costs for the event

Is there a minimum amount I must fundraise for the walk?

Our suggested minimum amount is $100. You can set your own fundraising goal, too!

Do you only accept monetary donations?

ChooseWell Communities accepts cash, credit card, and check donations. We also accept in-kind donations such as gift cards and products that can be used as prizes for participants. If you are a local business owner and would like to contribute to the walk with an in-kind donation, please email [email protected]

Where do I send cash or checks i've received from family and friends who want to support me for the walk?

Please mail with the attached donation form to ChooseWell Communities, Inc., 226 N 17th Street, Louisville, KY 40203. Each donation needs a separate form, this allows ChooseWell to credit your team for the donation and also to personally thank the donor.

Why should I form or join A team?

Teams are a great way to participate in the ChooseWell Walk. It’s much more fun to participate and fundraise for a walk with your family, friends, and colleagues! You can even make it into a friendly competition to see who can raise the most money! It’s also a great inclusive way to introduce those in your life to ChooseWell who may not otherwise be familiar with the cause.

Who can join my team?

Anyone is welcome! There is no limit on the number of teammates you can have or how much you can fundraise.

Can we make our own team t-shirts?

Of course! Although everyone who registers will receive an official t-shirt, we encourage teams to get creative and make their own t-shirts if they wish to do so. Other ideas to show your team spirit include decorating headbands and canvas sneakers, and decking out your child’s stroller!
